Early Times Reporter, Manish talked to a cross-section of people regarding the effectiveness and efficacy of the Roshni Act.
Although, people are skeptical about the role of this Act but there were voices which think that it would revolutionize the state of affairs in the state.
Nirdosh Uppal, Joint secretary, CITU said that the Roshni act will help only big land mafia in the state. The middle class people will be exploited by this act, he said, adding that politician and land grabbers are in truck and this act will never help the common people.
Roshni act is going to benefit only those people, who have money and muscle power, said Roop Lal, a social activist . He further said that the illegally occupied government land would be legalized by this scheme.
SK Ghai, a government employee, said this act is a fraud perpetrated on the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He alleged that under the garb of this act the government will start acting as land mafia.
This act is definitely going to help the poor farmers and people of rural areas in the state, said P L Raina, a government employee. He said that Roshni act was a boon to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and will definitely revolutionize the agricultural sector.
This act will definitely help the farmers and people, who have occupied government land for long, said businessman B R Nanda. This was a long pending desire of the people, which has been realized due to the leadership of the present chief minister, he added.
The Roshni act is a well thought and wise law which will benefit the people of Jammu and Kashmir in a great measure, said R S Kapahi, an entrepreneur. He however said that the benefit of this act should be given to genuine people, not those who have grabbed government land.
