| Rare surgery performed on 3-year-old | | | JAMMU | FEB 24
Rare complex surgery was performed on Rahul 3 years of age hailing from Nepal for chronic intestinal problem, which was endangering the life of the child, by Dr. Narinder Singh (Consultant pediatric Surgeon) at Maharishi Daya Nand Hospital, the Child had been suffering from constipation since birth and was diagnosed as a case of Hirchsprug’s disease. The operation (Duhamel’s Pull through procedure) took about 3 hours to complete and the chief operating surgeon Dr. Narinder Singh was assisted by Dr. Arun Arora (Anesthetist) and Dr. Sanjay Sharma (Surgeon). After the operation the patient made uneventful recovery and is now cured of his problem permanently. He was discharge from the hospital today after 10 days. Maharishi Daya Nand Hospital who is already providing superspeciality services in urology, neurosurgery, cardio thoracic surgery and laparscopic surgery is now providing regular services in the superspeciality of Pediatric Surgery by Dr. Narinder Singh.
