| HC stays selection of Anganwari Helper | | | Jammu, Feb 24
Justice Nirmal Singh of JK High Court Jammu wing in a writ petition challenging the selection/appointment of private respondent in Anganwari, has issued notice to Commissioner/Secretary Social Welfare, Director Social Welfare Jammu, Program Officer ICDS Doda, CDPO Doda and private respondent Zahida Begum returnable within six weeks and in the meantime stayed the operation of the impugned selection order of the private respondent Zubida Begum till next date of hearing and subject to objections of the other side
This court direction was passed in writ petition filed Maqsooda Bano r/o Nallah Basti village Phagsoo Tehsil Thatri District Doda challenging the selection and appointment of Mrs. Zahida Begum w/o Tariq Hussain r/o Phagsoo as Anganwari helper for center Mohra Nallah Basti, issued on November 15, 2006 despite selectee belonging to a different village, while ignoring the genuine and legitimate claims of the petitioner, as the petitioner being the resident of Mohra Nallah Basti in village Phagsoo and also residing at zero distance to the Anganwari Centre.
The petitioner prayed before the court for issuance of direction to official respondents to appoint the petitioner in place of private respondent Zahida Begum and also seeking quashment of appointment order of Zahida Begum.
