| Nowgam police arrests gamblers | | | Srinagar | Feb 24
Seven persons were held by Nowgam Police while playing gamble on the outskirts of the city at Lasjan area this afternoon. An amount of Rs 6900 was also seized by the police from their possession.
According to reports, Nowgam police arrested Muzzafar Ahmad Mir, son of Samad Mir, Mohammad Amin Mir son of Ghulam Qadir Mir, Mohammad Ismail Mir son of Abdul Gani Mir, Mushtaq Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Rehman Mir residents of Lasjan, Sarfraz Ahmad Sheikh son of Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, Abdul Rashid Sheikh son of Ghulam Rasool Sheikh, Nazir Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohammad Yousuf Sheikh residents of Athawajan Srinagar when they were openly gambling in Lasjan area. Police has also seized rupees 6900 which was on stake.
