Gandhian followers from France pay obeisance to Gandhi
Lauds J&K government for revolutionary Roshni Act

Jammu, February 25
Gandhian Doot and Co-ordinator of Mahatama Gandhi programme in France Mrs. Kulwant Kour reached Jammu and paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Dewan-E-Aam at Mubark Mandi today.
All the Gandhian appreciated revenue Roshni Act under which 17 lakh kanals of value of Rs. 2000 crore is being distributed fresh to poor farmers as per real philosophy of Gandhiji, Vinobha Bhave and Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. They hoped that each peace of land will goes to actual tiller in physical position of land and their position shall not be exploited by fake land lords in connivance with the revenue officials. He said Gandhian followers to visit each village to meet each tiller so that his position is shown in the record and land is officially transfer to him who is presently telling the land and has no bread to eat.
Jammu & Kashmir Gandhian workers were also present on the occasion joined her in paying tributes to ‘Father of Nation’.
Talking to media later, Mrs. Kour said that Gandhian ideology is more relevant now-a-days then before to make the world peaceful and congenial for all to live in amity and brotherhood. She said every Gandhian wherever he exists in the world and every citizen of India should work for propagating the message and teaching of Mahatma Gandhi leader of the millennium, to seek global détente and peace.
She praised noted Gandhian Mr. S.P. Verma for his sincere work in spreading Gandhian philosophy throughout the world. She said Mr. Verma met her in Paris where he was on world peace mission last year and apprised her about his efforts to popularize Gandhian philosophy.
Mrs. Kour disclosed that Gandhian ideology is more popular and trusted amongst the people of France and added that people celebrate Gandhi Jayanti and death anniversary in Paris with fervor in which besides people of Indian origin, French, local Mayors, Indian embassy staff and people from different political parties participate. We also desired to install a statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Paris.
Referring to the address made by J&K Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad in European parliament in Brussels last year, she said that Mr. Azad has cleared many doubts regarding the situation and historical background of Jammu & Kashmir State in Europe and presented real and true picture of Jammu & Kashmir and raised the image and dignity of people of state in the minds of European countries.
She said that being one of the top leader of India Mr. Azad has earned respect with his hard work, honesty and pro-people approach in the world community. She expressed hope that poor people of state who are facing uncertainty for last 17 years shall be benefited under Mr. Azad’s able leadership. “Mr. Azad is fulfilling the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi and is working round the clock as a committed follower of Gandhi ji for bringing peace in the state”, she added and prayed to almighty to fulfill Mr. Azad’s dream for Khushall Jammu & Kashmir. She said that before returning to Paris she would like to meet him to discuss and explore the possibilities for providing employment opportunities to J&K unemployed youths in France. She would like to invite Mr. Azad to address the Joint-Session of people of Indian origin and France nationals at Paris for the mutual benefits of both the countries.
Mrs. Kulwant Kour who originally belongs to border town of R. S. Pura now settled in Paris with her family is also a very good singer and usually expresses her feelings at International forms in various European countries by singing the peace and harmony songs with special reference of our country’s age old harmony heritage.
