| DRDA holds 27th Governing Body meeting. | | | KATHUA, FEBRUARY 25 The 27th governing body meeting of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) was held here today under the chairmanship of Member Parliament, Ch. Lal Singh. MLA, Basohli, Smt. Kanta Andotra,, District Development Commissioner (Chairman DRDA), Kathua, Ms. Sarita Chauhan, Additional District Development Commissioner( Project Director DRDA), Kathua, Dr. Mandeep. K. Bhandari, Chief Planning Officer, Kathua, Assistant Commissioner ( Dev) Kathua/ Samba, Project Officer, DRDA, Programme Officer,ICDS, District Pnmachayat Officer, Kathua, Senior Bank functionaries, District Officers, XENs of Work departments, BDOs and other functionaries were present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, MP, Ch. Lal Singh urged upon the officers and the bankers to work with proper coordination and adopt humane approach in redressing the grievances of the people living BPL so that they can earn their livelihood. He asked the BDOs to conduct survey of the population living below the poverty line so that they are provided full benefit under various schemes launched by the government. He exhorted upon the bank functionaries to extend matching share to the graded Self help Groups for which revolving fund has been released without intentional delay. MLA, Kanta Andotra strongly advocated relaxing the loaning procedure so that the people can easily avail the facilities. District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Ms. Sarita Chauhan exhorted upon the filed functionaries to strengthen the monitoring aspect and identify such activities which can use in the available raw material and existing infrastructures. Additional District Development Commissioner, Kathua, who is also the Project Director apprised the meeting that under SGSY an outlay of Rs. 21.91 lakh was earmarked which includes 13.14 lakhs as subsidy component, 4.38 lakhs as infrastructural development and 2.19 lakh as revolving fund and 2.19 lakh as training component. Out of which the available amount was Rs. 15.51 lakh and expenditure was 100%. The proposed outlay for the scheme for the year 2006-07 is Rs. 26.30 lakh out of which 7.38 lakh is the state share. Dr. Bhandari discussed the crux of SGSY in length and said that great emphasis has been laid on formation of Self Help Groups this year and 90% target stands achieved. He further informed that number of SHGs formed till last year have already been financed this year. |
