KATUA, FEBRUARY 25 Sab-Ras Sahitiya Sangam, a literary and poetic organization, celebrated it s Annual function, 2007 here at Kathua today. A multilingual musharia was also organized on the occasion. Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Mr. Babu Singh who was the chief guest lit the traditional lamp on the occasion Among others Principal, Government Degree College for Women, Kathua, Chief prosecuting Officer, Kathua, Poets, Prominent citizens besides a galaxy of intellectual were present on the occasion. More than 15 poets recited their writings which were appreciated by the audience. They include Dr. Adarsh Malhotra,Tarsem Mahajan, S .D. Singh, Vijaya Thakuar, T.R. Sumbria, S. Manohar Singh, Sunil Dutt Shaad, Khajoor Singh, Janak Raj Sharma, Neelam , R. S. Katal, . Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Babu Singh congratulated the Sab-Ras Sahitya Sangam for promoting cultural and linguistic harmony by way of organizing mushaira and literal mahifils. Mr. Singh said that writers and poets can play a vital role in refining the society. They should play energetic role in inculcating moral and ethical values among the masses as these values are degrading, the minister added. Earlier the minister released a book entitled “Suchain Sambalan” written by veteran poet and writer Khajoor Singh and honored Rajinder Nath Rehbar, Dr. M.A. Wani, Verinder Kessar, Manoj Chopra and Shri Ganesh Sharma by providing them shawls. Later mementoes were also distributed on the occasion. |
