| Ridicules slogans like self rule, Autonomy | | Infrastructure of Militancy still intact : Prof Gupta | | JAMMU | FEB 25 Observing that the congress coalitions, both at the centre as also in this State, have created a messy situation, the former Union Minister and a senior leader of the BJP Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta and said that there was not a single aspect of life wherein there was not confusion and anarchy, not with standing their claims of good governance. He was addressing the gathering of party activists and others at the border village of Thuthe Chak of Hiranagar Tehsil. Referring to the security aspect, Prof. Gupta pointed out that the terrorism is spreading from Kashmir to Mumbai, Assam, Manipur, Delhi, Panipat and there was hardly a place left where the cross border terror is not marking its presence but there was no effective law, not to say of any policy to tackle this menace. Even POTA was abolished to appease certain elements. About Jammu and Kashmir, he asserted that the infrastructure of militancy is still intact and weapons, explosives as also found on flowing from across the border/ line of Control and the mentors of terrorism are having shelter in Pak/POK. But it was strange that slogans are being raised for demilitarization keep up with the tunes of power players of Pakistan. He ridiculed the cries for Self-Rule and Autonomy and said that an impression in being created that Kashmir is have been subjugated and the Indian Army is something foreigner. The BJP leader pointed out that this State is enjoying more powers and the Army is not only protecting them form the terrorist but helping the people in any emergency and urgency. Moreover, the deployment of the forces is fight a proxy war launched by Pakistan for the past over 17 years. There was no such deployment of forces prior to eruption of terrorist violence. He said that such moves and slogans indicate that the coalition partners of the Congress are trying to facilitate militancy and secessionism under the garb of peace process and limited accession with India, and at the same time they are seeking more and more concessions and funds from the poor Indian exchequer. The paucities and soaring prices coupled with the black-marketing, have once again proved that when there was congress rule, such problems touched new heights Congress, the BJP leader alleged. Prof. Gupta said that what can be the bigger joke that in their economic Survey report has put the percentage of people living below the poverty line (BPL) in Jammu and Kashmir at 4 percent and about two years ago they got a PRIZE even for tackling poverty but in the same report it has been stated that the State is providing BPL rations drawn from the Centre to 7.36 lakh families. This forms over 35 percent of the total population whereas the national average of BPL in the country is just about 21 percent.
