| Skuast Jammu organizes training programme for farmers. | | |

A training programme on Integrated Insect, Pest and Disease Management for sub-tropical fruit cops fruit crops was organized by directorate of Extension education of Share-e-Kashmir university of Agricultural sciences and technology at Babbar, Tehsil Reasi. The program was organized under horticulture Technology Mission project entitled “On farm trainings on Recent Trends in Integrated Insect-Pest and Disease Management for sub-tropical fruits” The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Pramod Baru, Director Extension Education.
Dr. R.K. Arora, Dy. Director Extension and principal investigator of the project extended warm welcome to the farmers. He while addressing the participants said that main aim of organizing such programmed was to make awareness among the farmers about the latest scientific technologies he urged up the farmers to abstain from using excessive pesticides.
Dr. Sanjay Rai, Asstt. Prof. Vegetable and Dr. Ranbir Singh, Asst. Prof. Plant Pathology delivered a comprehensive talk on integrated disease management of various fruit crops. Dr. Sushil Kumar Research Associate demonstrated the low cost scientifically validated technologies for the control of various insects pests.
Baba Jatinder Singh Ji Sodhi, Gandhi ashen of Dera Baba Banda Bahadur expressed gratitude to the organizers on behalf of the farmers and requested that such events should be conducted in other parts of the district as well.
