| Foreign mercenary of JeM outfit eliminated | | | Srinagar | Feb 26 A foreign mercenary believed to be of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) outfit was eliminated after a brief encounter with Police Sogam and Security forces in Gujjar Patti, Sogam Kupwara this morning. According to reports, a brief encounter took place between joint operation party of security forces and militant at Goggar Patti, Sogam. After an hour long gun battle, the militant was eliminated. The militant has been identified as Mohd Iqbal alias Balla resident of Pak Occupied Kashmir (PoK) and belonged to Jaish-e-Mohammed militant outfit. The slain militant was the body guard of Jaish Commander Pasha, reports added. One AK rifle, three magazines, one wireless set, cash of rupees 10,000 and one mobile phone was recovered from the militant. Meanwhile, some unknown militants fired at and injured Shiraz Ahmad Mir (age 25 years) son of Ghulam Rasool resident of Aloora at Aloora under the jurisdiction of Police Station Zainapora. The injured has been hospitalized. A Case has been registered in this connection.
