| Rafiq Shah creates ruckus over multi crores scam in CCDU | | 'Reveal relation of Executive Director CCDU with former Minister for PHE, IFC Deptt.' | | ET Plus Report
Jammu, Mar 22: Panthers Party member Rafiq Shah crated ruckus in the Legislative Council on Friday over scandal worth of crores of rupees in PHE department in Communication and capacity development unit (CCDU) scheme. Rafiq Shah vociferously raised the demand for constituting a house committee to delve into the huge loss caused to PHE department under CCDU and also to probe the role of retired Chief Engineer, I&FC Kashmir who was re-employed as Executive Director CCDU Mir Najeebullah as under his tenure a huge scandal of crores has been un-earthed.
While raising his supplementary Rafiq Shah asked the minister for Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Sharma, "In your reply there was no mention of relationship between former Minister PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control and Executive Director CCDU. How come government has no knowledge about the relationship? Also there is no mention about the embezzlement in his tenure. Why the tainted officer was not suspended till date. A house committee should be constituted to delve the scam in CCDU scheme".
Minister shared with the house, "The department has constituted an enquiry committee vide Government order No. 54-PW (Hyd) of 2013 dated 11.2.2013 and the enquiry is in progress. When the inquiry was ordered, the said officer very next day tendered his resignation. But I rejected his resignation and ordered him to remain on the post till the inquiry is on. Moreover I assured the house that inquiry will be completed at the earliest. ".
Sticking to his demand on constitution of House Committee, Rafiq Shah trooped to well of the house and staged a sit in dharna in well.
NC members Sheikh Ghulam Rasool and Khalid Najeeb Suhrawardhy also expressed concern over the scam in the CCDU scheme. |
