| House Committee to review functioning of JK Guest Houses | | | NAVNEET DUBEY Jammu, Mar 22: Chairman Legislative Council Amrit Malhotra today ordered for constituting a house committee to review the functioning of Jammu and Kashmir guest houses. The demand to constitute house committee came up during the question of Congress member Jehangir Mir regarding the Guest Houses of Jammu and Kashmir outside the state. Members cutting across the party lines voiced concern over the present system in J&K houses, particularly in JK House Chankaypuri New-Delhi. During his supplementary Jehangir Mir while refereeing to the JK House Chanakyapuri, New Delhi alleged that in Block-C, the patients and their attendants get accommodation only on availability. No priority is being given to them. Congress Member Ravinder Sharma wanted to know whether government is contemplating to build an additional facility to cater to patients. Panthers Party member Rafiq Shah alleged that even MLCs did not get accommodation in JK House Mumbai. Another congress Party member Ghulam Nabi Monga alleged that there is no upkeep in JK House Chanakyapuri. "There is no cleanliness, acute shortage of manpower there. How is government planning to improve the facilities in JK House Chanakyapuri. Whether government is planning to build an additional block here? He questioned. Congress Party member Naresh Kumar Gupta said that JK House Mumbai is being occupied by the staff and it is almost impossible to get accommodations there. Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri, Sheikh Ghulam Rasool also raised the supplementaries. The minster incahrge Hospitality and Protocol Vikar Rasool failed to satisfy the members with his reply. Looking into seriousness of the matter, Chairman ordered constitution of a house committee to ascertain the functioning of JK Guest Houses. |
