Jammu,August 02: The whole of Jammu region once again remained disconnected with the rest of the country through out larger part of wednesday as optical fibre cable was cut at two points on the Jammu Pathankot national highway.The mobile networks, functioning of bank ATM’s and railway reservation counters were the worst hit as endless wait of consumers stretched beyond office hours.
The BSNL authorities struggled hard to first locate the snag and then laboured hard to restore the communications network.The situation was no different in banks where ATMS’s remained out of order and banking transactions remained worst hit.The internet facility and mobile network remained disrupted between 11.40 a.m and till late in the evening,
Official sources said that the OFC was cut near Kathua and BSNL engineers were working hard to restore the network.The network was later restored around 6.00 p.m in the evening. |
