Lal Singh chairs DLM Committee Meeting

To review the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes in Rural Development, Social Welfare, Public Health Engineering, PWD and other departments, a meeting of District Level Vigilance Monitoring Committee (DLMC) was held here at Kathua today.
Member Parliament Doda-Udhampur parliamentary constituency, Ch. Lal Singh who is also the chairman of District Level Vigilance Monitoring Committee presided.
Among others District Development Commissioner Kathua, Ms. Sarita Chauhan, Additional District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Dr. Mandeep. K. Bhandari, Chief Planning Officer, Kathua, Assistant Commissioner ( Dev) Kathua/ Samba, Project Officer, DRDA, District Panchayat Officer, Kathua , Sh. Jagjit Singh, national level Monitor(NLM) from Chandigarh other district Officers from line departments Mr. Parshotam Singh Sarpanch Barwal, Ch. Hasham Ali Naib Sarpanch, Basantpur, Raman Gupta, Kathua NGO, Smt. Bandana Gupta were present on the occasion.
Ch. Lal Singh discussed in length various centrally sponsored schemes for the upliftment of rural and poor masses which included Swarnjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY), Indira Awas Yojana (IAY), District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Prime Ministers Gram Sadak Yojana, (PMGSY), total sanitation Campaign (TSC) and augmentation of rural water supply programme (ARWSP) and enquired the status of each scheme from the concerned officer. He exhorted upon the officers to implement these schemes in letter and spirit so as to percolate the benefit of these schemes for whom these are meant for.
Under PMGSY, Mr. Singh said that total population of village including morahs enroute be considered for determining the category of roads so that the particular village may fall in the preview of PMGSY. The execution of works is strictly adhered to the guidelines of the centrally sponsored schemes. Food for work should be provided to the needy as per specified rates and food must not be under SGSY, he added.
Besides, under Indira Awas Yojana and Total Sanitation Campaign, Mr. Singh stressed the need for identifying the targeted population for whom making of a house is a dream.
District Development Commissioner, Kathua while speaking on the occasion exhorted upon the officers of the Rural development Department to strictly follow the guidelines and provide the copies of the guidelines and agenda of all the meetings to the District level vigilance committee members so that healthy debates can be witness from the side the members.
Additional District development Commissioner, Kathua Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari also addressed the meeting.
National level Monitor Mr. Jagjit Singh disclosed the monitoring pattern of the centrally sponsored schemes.
