Charak inspects city roads

Jammu, Feb 26
Minister for Roads and Buildings Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak today visited Residency road, bus stand and circular road of Jammu city to review construction work, presently under execution in these areas through R & B.
During the tour, Minister directed the construction agency to speed up the pace of work for early completion. He directed Chief Engineer R & B to get lifted whole garbage and other material from roadsides immediately.
Minister said that about Rs 1.28 crore would be spent on the beautification of footpaths in Jammu city, out of which work for Rs 40 lakh have been completed so far. He was also informed that for the convenience of passengers, the department is constructing matador stand near bus stand at a cost of Rs 4.50 lakh.
He also directed to complete the shot create wall at backside of Mubarak Mandi Complex, which was washed away by incessant rain in last summer and added that so far Rs 19 lakh have been spent in phase-I and the work on phase 2nd is on progress and to be completed at a cost of Rs 21 lakh.
