| Camp on potato cultivation organized | | | JAMMU | FEB 26 A training programme organized under Centrally Sponsored Scheme Farmers Field School was held here today which was attended by 30 farmers. During the training programme, growers were apprised about Potato Cultivation, package of practices, disease management, seed multiplication, value addition and post harvest management. During the camp Sarpanch of the area highlighted the potato related problems and the growers of the area interacted with the experts from agriculture department and SKUAST. Director Agriculture Jammu, Mrs Vinod Bala Sharma stressed upon the growers to diversify and include cash crops like potato in their cropping system for better returns. Chief Agriculture Officer Jammu, Mr S.L Galotra, Potato Development Officer, Mr U.S Soodan, Subject Matter Specialist Mr Matinder Singh and Ravinder Kachroo and Agriculture Extension Officer Marh, Mr Jai Gopal Sharma delivered technical lectures while Dr R.K Samnotra from SKUAST Jammu held an interactive session with the growers. |
