| Highway Blues: CM requests for air service; PM agrees | | | Jammu, Feb 27 Keeping in view continuous road blockage between Srinagar and Jammu and as a result of further rainfall the apprehension of remaining this road further blocked for few more days, Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad took up the matter about stranded passengers with Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh here this evening on telephone. He talked to the Prime Minister on telephone and requested to him that free air service may be provided to all stranded passengers from Jammu to Srinagar and from Srinagar to Jammu accordingly. The Prime Minister immediately agreed and issued orders for two days free air service on 28th February and 1st March 2007 through special Army airplanes to stranded passengers both from Jammu to Srinagar and vice-versa. The free special air service will resume from tomorrow at 11 a.m. All passengers stranded at Jammu have been advised to immediately contact Divisional Commissioner Jammu (Mobile No: 9419000708, Office Telephone No: 2544045, Residence Telephone No: 2466490), Deputy Commissioner Jammu (Mobile No: 9419180839, Office Telephone No: 2546223, Residence Telephone No: 2459164) and SSP Police Control Room Jammu (Mobile No: 9419180911, Office Telephone No: 2560402, 2570152, Residence Telephone No: 2460344). The passengers stranded at Srinagar have been advised to contact Divisional Commissioner Kashmir (Mobile No. 9419000704, Office Telephone No: 2452643, Residence Telephone No: 2452581), Deputy Commissioner Srinagar (Mobile No: 9419184131, Office Telephone No: 2452182, Residence Telephone No: 2487322) and SSP Control Room Srinagar (Mobile No: 9419000903, Telephone No: 2452092, 2452138 and Residence Telephone No. 2434740). All stranded passengers have been advised to enlist their names accordingly.
