| Dir Social Audit, MGNREGA inspects works at Samba | | |
JAMMU: The Director Social Audit, MGNREGA, Dr. A. G. Sofi conducted social audit of the works taken under MGNREGA in Panchayat Sangwali Block of Gagwal in District Samba today.
A Gram Panchayat was held in the area also in which officials, Panches and the Sarpanch of Panchayat participated.
The Panchayats comprise of three villages with the total population of 2080 souls. 243 job cards were issued in the area. While discussing the eleven works taken up during the year 2012-2013, it was found that people are satisfied with the programme. While discussing the works the job card holders had no complaint regarding the payments. Nor there is any problem with regards to the availability of works instead the public is showing attraction towards the programme. While inspecting a works, it was found that the lanes are well laid out and ponds have been refurbished properly. On spot the women folk of Indra Colony comprised of 15 families of SC's demanded improvement of a pond adjacent to the colony. While inspecting the pond the BDO and Panchayat members assured the public for its refurbishment. |
