Tara Chand lauds Azad’s vision

Jammu, February 28
Speaker Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Mr. Tara Chand has reiterated the resolve of coalition government to ensure all round development in the State and to provide all basic and modern amenities to the people. He said that massive development has taken place on ground in all the essential sectors since the coalition government has taken over.
The Speaker was addressing a large gathering of people at village Dhounchack-Dadora in Khour block where people had organized a function for felicitating the newly elected Members of Legislative Council.
Mr. Tara Chand highlighted the achievements of government and said that the Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad has taken daring political decisions for the benefits of general masses, which would prove landmarks in the history of Jammu and Kashmir. He referred the Roshni Act and implementation of Wazir Commission as unique gifts for the farmers and common people of State. He appreciated the vision of Chief Minister who has even moved forward from the Wazir Commission Report and fulfilled the aspirations of people.
To improve the education status of people, the government has engaged more than 25000 ReT teachers in the State, besides upgraded a large number of schools and opened about two dozens degree colleges and university campus at various places, said Mr. Tara Chand.
On the issue of employment to youth, Speaker said that this problem is globally confronted and in other states, the youth are opting for setting up of self-employment ventures instead of pursuing government jobs, which are not possible for all. He appealed the unemployed youth of the state to take up the self-employment schemes for livelihood for which new dimension has been given to self-employment programme and banks have been asked to liberally finance the viable income generating units with handsome amounts on which government provides subsidy. He also stressed upon the various government agencies to create awareness about these schemes amongst the unemployed youth so that more and more youth come forward and get benefited.
Minister for Rural Development Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma who also accompanied the Speaker said that government has been making all out efforts to generate maximum number of employment opportunities, however, every person cannot be absorbed in government service as such other avenues have to be adopted to earn respectable livelihood.
He assured the gathering that matter regarding inclusion of Bakore and Manchack panchayats in Khour block would be looked into sympathetically, which is a long pending demand of the people. Presently these two panchayats are falling in Akhnoor block.
Earlier the people of Dhounchack and Dadora villages felicitated the newly elected MLCs namely Mr. R.S.Chib and Mr. Mohammad Amin Bhat. They were offered with traditional Dogra “pugris” turbans as a mark of respect for becoming the Members of Upper House.
While conveying their gratitude to the people, Mr. Chib and Mr. Bhat lauded the role of Speaker in ensuring massive development in Khour block. They appreciated the people for electing such a dynamic, energetic and hardworking leader who is always anxious to solve their problems.
That spoke on the occasion included, senior Congress leader Thakur Balwan Singh, Gujjar leader Ch. Hamid, Mr. Narinder Sharma, Mr. Shamsher Singh Chib and others.
