| Challan produced in fake encounter case of Padder | | | Srinagar | Feb 28
Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) produced challan in the much publicized fake encounter case of A R Paddar against SSP Ganderbal, HR Parihar and six other policemen. The challan was produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Srinagar who committed it to district and Session Judge. According to official sources, challan against the Policemen in case 06/07 under section 120-B, 364,302, 201 RPC in respect of fake encounter case of AR Padder was produced in one of the five cases under review.
It may be mentioned that the state govt had constituted investigating team headed by
DIG Srinagar Mr. Farooq Ahmed to probe the case before constituting a judicial probe in the matter. The members of the team had questioned the Policemen, civilians and relations of those killed in fake encounters. Besides the probe into the kidnapping and killing of carpenter Abdur Rehman Paddar, the team is also investigating four other cases which came to light during investigations of the complaint in the AR Padder case.
