| Veeri visits Gujjar Basti, addresses public meeting | | | ANANTNAG: MLC, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri has said that the Government headed by dynamic Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is committed for the development of far-flung and backward areas of the State. The MLC was addressing a public meeting at Niyard Gujjar Basti in South Kashmir today. He said Rs. 94 lakhs are being spent on the execution of Public Health Engineering works in five Pattis of the said Gujjar Basti, while Rs. 1.95 crore are being utilized for the construction of link roads under PMGSY out of which Rs. 30 lakhs have been expended till date. On the occasion, the people of the area apprised MLC about their demands, which include macadamization of roads, improvement in electricity and water supply, setting up of Sheep Units and other basic amenities. The MLC assured them that their problems shall be brought into the notice of concerned authorities for timely redressal. Earlier, Mr. Veeri inspected Power Receiving Station, Khiram in Bijbehara Constituency and directed the concerned authorities to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the area. |
