| | | KATHUA: Minister for Fisheries, Cooperatives, Finance and Planning Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, today laid foundation stone of Government High School building here at village Aglidhar. The Building of the upgraded Govt. High School building will be constructed at an estimated cost of 39.91 Lakh under Rashtriya Madhmik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA). The minister also convened public grievance camp at Aglidhar and listened to the problems of the people. The people representing various areas highlighted their demands which were mostly related to augmentation of potable water supply, power supply, road connectivity and up-gradation of basic amenities. Other demand projected on the occasion included Club Ghar for Aglidhar and repair of Aglidhar road. Dr Sharma said Government was determined to ensure equitable development of all the regions of the state with special focus backward, Kandi and border area. He said education is key to the progress and the government has tagged it as priority sector. He said focused attention was being paid to upgrade schools with adequate infrastructure and required teaching staff. The Minister discussed the issues raised by the people with the officers present and asked them to make adequate provisions for meeting the public demands. He particularly stressed for solving the problem of drinking water, electricity, revenue related problems and development requirements of each area. The Minister said that the aim of holding such grievance camp was to get firsthand feedback of the problems of the people. He asked officers to cooperate with the people and mitigate their problems by making extra efforts and judicious use of the resources at their disposal. Responding to the demand of Club Ghar at Aglidhar Dr Sharma passed instructions to make estimates for the same. He also informed that to cater the drinking water need of the area the 2.14 cr Water Filtration plant at Aglidhar will commissioned soon. Tehsildar Billawar, and other District and Tehsil level officers, panchs and sarpanchs and a large number of people of Aglidhar and adjoining panchayats were present on the occasion. |
