| Congress workers take out rally; celebrate Niaz’s election as MLC | | | DODA, FEB27-- Hundreds Congress workers from Bhaderwah assembled at Athkar and took out a procession, which after passing through Beheja, Bamlakhi, Sherekhi and other villages, culminated at Power House Sartingal, where District General Secretary of District Congress Committee Doda, Din Mohammed Mir hailed the Chief Minister Gulam Nabi Azad and PCC President Peerzada Mohammed Sayeed for nominating Mohammed Sharief Niaz as MLC..
Highlighting the achievements of the coalition government led by Azad, Mir said that in a very short span of time, Azad has done considerably well and gone beyond the people’s expectations. ‘What the state could not achieve in decades, Azad did it in just one and a half years tenure as Chief Minister of the state’, he added. Opening of University Campus and setting up of Development Authority in Bhaderwah are some of the major achievements in Doda district, the Congress leader maintained.
Lauding the role of Niaz in strengthening the party and taking up several developmental oriented measures in the district, the speakers forcefully demanded his inclusion in the state cabinet.
The speakers also demanded that Sherakhi road should be made functional and a Higher Secondary School be opened in the village apart from PHCs at Sartingal and Beheja .
Those who spoke at the rally included Mukhtiar Ahmed Mir ,Ali Mohammed Mir ,Nazir Ahmed Sheikh ,Swami Raj ,Khazan Singh ,Sanjay Kumar ,Abdul Razaq ,Nazir Ahmed Daya Nand Padha ,Karam Chand ,Rashida Begum ,Parveena Begum ,Kanta Devi and Shakuntla Devi.
Pradesh Congress Committee, which met here today with Shahnawaz Yazdani City President Congress (I) Bhadarwah in the chair, has also welcomed the nomination of Mohammed Sharief Naiz as MLC from Doda reserved constituency.
Congratulating Niaz on his election as MLC, Yazdani said that the Congress party in the district would get further strengthened and developmental activities would receive added fillip under the dynamic leadership of Niaz who has been working for the development of the area and socio economic transformation of the people of the district
