Jammu, 01 March As part of Army’s Operation Sadbhavana project carried out in Jammu and Kashmir, the Gurj Division organisd a ‘Women Health Awareness Camp from 26 February 2007 to 01 March 2007 at Government Higher Secondary School Bani, District Kathua. Women and adolescent girls from Khurdwa, Bani, Lowang, Daggar, Dulangal, Badnota and other far flung areas attended this workshop. The aim of this camp is to spread awareness about basics of woman’s health, so that both, women and young girls of the area could lead healthier lives. During the duration of the medical camp, health education was imparted to around 187 participants and 631 villagers women/adolescent girl volunteers of nearby areas covering sexual health, pregnancy, breast feeding, child care, delivery conduct safety precautions during delivery in a village setting, nutrition and immunization. The camp was conducted by Military Doctors, said a PIB (Defence Wing) release. |
