Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing celebrates Nurses Day

JAMMU, May 12: Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing an Institution first of its kind to start B.Sc Nursing course in the Jammu province celebrated Nurses day in the college premises.
An oath taking ceremony and a cultural programme was also held on the occasion.
MLC Jugal Kishore was the chief guest where as Dr N.S. Gupta Retd Dean and Head Faculty of Management, Sr academician University of Jammu along with Dr Anima Langar & Dr K.B Pandotra were the guest of honour.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma appreciated the college management for imparting quality to the students.
He also congratulated the college management for holding such a programme.Principal of the college Mr Jhonny Kutty presented the annual report highlighting college performance for the last few years. Chairman of the college Mr M.S. Katoch highlighted the achievements of the college. He said that the management of the college besides imparting quality education is also promoting education amongst the weaker section of the society by extending them helping hand by relaxing fee for the economically poor students of the society.
He informed that at present 15 students are availing this facility even the college has also started free computer course for the students of the adjoining villages ie Chak Bhakwal, Seri Pandita and present 25 students have started availing this free course of 45 days duration.
Dr N.S. Gupta during his address appreciated the cultural programme presented. He said that their is a great need of qualified Nurses not only in the Govt sector but also there is great demand in the private sector specially in the rural belt. Dr K.B.Pandotra retired Director of NRHM project highlighted the need of the qualified Nurses.
He said that youth should come forward to join the profession to serve the society.
Dr Anima Langar also appreciated the efforts of the college in promoting this noble profession and asked the students to work with full sincerity to cure the ailing patients.
The prizes were distributed among the meritorious students Prominent among those who witnessed the function were Mr Shri Sarpanch Seri Pandita,Mr Navin Bali President Chemist Association,Mr Kushal Magotra, Mr Abhimanyu Katoch Group MD, Sh Avinash Bhatia,Sh Amrit magotra,Sh M.L.Sharma,smt Sunita Sharma,Smt Baita K.Devu,Mr Shince Mathew,Smt Lisa Anatony,Sh Puran Sharma, etc.
