| Dy CM inaugurates Ashok Sodhi Memorial Photo Exhibition | | |

JAMMU, May 12: Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Tara Chand today inaugurated a photo exhibition by prominent photo journalists of the state.
The exhibition has been organised to remember the contributions of ace photo journalist of the region late Ashok Sodhi on his fifth death anniversary. Mr. Sodhi died on May 11, 2008 at Samba while performing his professional duties.
Prominent photo journalists who have showcased their work in the exhibition include, Afzal Shah, Raman Raina and Anand. Over 222 photographs of different photo journalists had been kept on display at Shalamar road.Remembering contributions of Sodhi in the field of journalism, the Deputy Chief Minister described him as a valiant photo journalist who challenged limits for achieving excellence in his profession.
While paying rich tributes to Sodhi, he lauded efforts done by the photo journos for bringing to fore the issues of public interest, adding that visual presentation of facts by photographs and videos adds another dimension to the news. |
