Annual Sathapana day of Mata Chandi celebrated

12th Annual Sathapana day of Godess Mata Chandi organised by Sarv Shakti Sevika Sanastha block Jammu was celebrated here today at Mata Maha Laxshmi temple Pacca Danga where from Machhail Yatra in Doda district commences. The celebrations started with recitation of Aradhana. Bhajans, Kirtans and religious hymns on the occasion. Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma was the chief guest. Administrator Jammu Municipal Corporation Mr. Vinod Sharma was also present.
Addressing the congregation the Minister assured that steps would be initiated to develop the whole track to Machhail besides pilgrim centre at Bahaderwah in Doda district. He said matter has already been taken up with Chief Minister for providing funds to the locals enroute for providing accommodation to the devotees during the yatra period till permanent infrastructure is created. He also said that steps would be initiated to bring the Machhail on map of pilgrim tourism.
Earlier Mr. Jugal accompanied by his family offered prayers at the temple and prayed for everlasting peace and prosperity of the state.
Speaking on the occasion the Organizer of the Sanastha Mr. Bansi Lal Gupta said that a Hawan was organized which culminated at 10 A.M after Puran Ahuti. He revealed that 12 years ago Machhail Yatra had commenced with participation of only 20 pilgrims which has touched 50 thousand mark with the development of infrastructure at the pilgrim centre. He said around 30 thousand devotees have participated in todays’ celebrations and sought the blessings of Mata Godess.
Proper security arrangements and regulation of heavy rush of devotees have been made with the active cooperation of shopkeepers and locals of Pacca Danga, Moti bazar and Kalijani. He expressed gratitude for their cooperation, which has made the event a grand success.
On the occasion Prasad was served to the devotees and a free lunger was also arranged for the devotees who have come from far-off places to have the Darshan of Mata Goddes and seek blessings.
It was revealed that donations received today would be utilized properly for the development of track and pilgrim centre besides strengthening infrastructure for the facilities of devotees.
