| Major tragedy averted, OGW arrested with grenade | | | DODA AUGUST-2- A major tragedy was averted with the timely arrest of an Over Ground Worker of HUM outfit along with a live grenade in Doda district today.
According to official sources the District Police on a specific information that one OGW namely Abdul Karim son of Mohammed Iqbal resident of Manoo Gandoh has been given one hand grenade by Barkat Ali code Shakeel Divisional Commander of HUM outfit and tasked him to throw the grenade at Police picket Manoo, the Police and Army laid a naka in Manoo Nallah.
The spokesman said that when the OGW was going to execute the task, he was intercepted by the naka party on the way and arrested him along with the grenade. From questioning the subject, it has been revealed that for executing the said task Barkat Ali of HUM outfit had promised to give him Rs.20, 000. However, the timely arrest has averted the major tragedy, the spokesman added.
The arrested OGW has been put to questioning and some vital clues are expected from him during the interrogation.
