| WE ARE READY TO FACE ELECTIONS: OMAR | | | Jammu, March 01 Terming PDP sloganeering on issues related to security a mere ‘dramatic act’ ahead of looming assembly polls , National Conference chief Omar Abdullah on Thursday blasted PDP leadership for staying mum while they were in office and not voicing their concern over the presence of security forces and draconian laws in the state. Bowling bouncers one after the other targeting Mufti Mohd Sayeed and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, Omar who was addressing party workers here at She-e Kashmiri bhawan thundered on top of his voice, “Why you were silent for three years when you were chairing meetings of unified high command in the capacity of chief minister. Did you ever ask army top brass to recall troops from Kashmir valley during these meetings," Omar said raising question marks over the genuineness of their claims at this juncture. Referring to boycott of cabinet meeting by PDP minister son Wednesday evening, Omar said," You have no right to continue in the government if you are not ready to attend cabinet meetings. It is better you pull out of the coalition government and inform Governor as well. We are also ready to face elections, and let people decide whether you are right or wrong. Without stopping Omar leveled serious charges of cheating and deceit on PDP leadership while saying that in your time Governor addressed joint session of the state legislature on three occasions but not even once did you raise all these issues. Commenting on the PDP poll campaign during 2002 assembly elections, Omar said they befooled people with slogans of providing two govt jobs to each house hold and now they are expressing their helplessness and saying we donot have orders. He also promised one job to those families who donot have any one in their family presently doing govt job. The track record of their government on healing touch policy is abysmal,Omar said. "Earlier people in Kashmir were targeted by police goondagardi and now such cases are happenin gin Jammu also". Omar said, i want to ask to what extent PDP can go to make fool of Kashmiri electorate. For three years Mufti claimed credit for bringing Indo-Pak closer, and starting Srinaagr-Muzaffarabad bus service and now they are pleading before the Congress party to withdraw forces and repeal Armed forces special powers act. If they are so powerful they can do it easily, "yeh toh inke baiyan haath ka khel hai."Omar said ridiculing their stand on the issue.
