| Over 2525 stranded passengers shifted today | | | Jammu March 01 Following the closure of Jammu-Srinagar National Highway for the last one week, the Army and the Air Force have jointly launched Operation ‘Hamsafar’ to airlift the stranded passengers to their respective destinations. As a part of the operation launched from today, 2525 passengers have been shifted by mid day today. The aircrafts have been plying continuously to move the passengers to their respective locations, Jammu, Udhampur and Srinagar. In addition, the Army has also established adhoc transit camps at Jammu and Udhampur for providing necessary human support to transients, besides transportation to move the passengers between the airport and the transit camps, a Defence handout said. . The stranded passengers have openly expressed their heartfelt thanks to the Army forces for their spontaneous gesture and unstinted help. The warmth and consideration of the Army personnel was also widely appreciated, the hand out claimed.
