8/2/2006 10:10:16 PM
JAMMU AUGUST-2-
Gorkha Sudhar Sabha in a meeting held under the chairmanship of its President R R Sharma has expressed serious concern over the callous attitude of the government towards their burning problems and called upon the community members to join the sabha in a big way and fight for their rights unitedly.
The meeting discussed various issues threadbare and expressed its serious concern for neglecting the community of their basic rights. It was revealed at the meeting that while their community members have been given OBC/minority community status throughout the country but it was altogether different in Jammu and Kashmir. It alleged that even the community members are not being provided state subject certificates as a result of which the educated unemployed youth of the community are denied the rights to apply for the government jobs.
In a handout the President has urged the government to concede the genuine demands of the community and grant them minority status.
