Chinar plantation function held at DPO, Pulwama

As a part of Chinar plantation drive launched by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad here yesterday, a Chinar plantation function was organized at District Police Headquarters Pulwama by Nitish Kumar, Superintendent of Police. The function was attended by Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo Deputy Commissioner and other Police Officers. During the ceremony five Chinar saplings were planted at DPL, District Police Office and Police Camp Pulwama. Joginder Singh, SDPO Shopian planted two Chinar saplings at Police Station and Police Camp Shopian.
On this occasion, SP Pulwama spelt out the significance of plantation of Chinar, the Valley’s heritage. He emphasized that these occasions should not be confined to the ceremonial functions only but the objective should be to preserve our heritage in letter and spirit and asked the general public to start plantation of the Chinar around their surroundings and the vacant lands.
