| Dogra Battalion organizes inter-college cultural festival | | | Poonch | March 02
Dogra battalion under the aegis of Krishsna Ghati Brigade organized an inter-college cultural and dance festival at Balnoi in Poonch district today. The aim of the festival was to give exposure to the talented youth to exhibit their performance and arouse the passion of the local populace towards music and curricular activities.
The festival which was inaugurated by Major Gen.Rameshwar Roy, General Officer Commanding 25 Infantry Division, was attended by students from Government Degree College Poonch, Mendhar and other local schools of the district.
The participating students presented a unique cultural bonanza depicting the rich cultural ethos of the state.
Later, the Maj Gen Roy distributed prizes among the participating students and appreciated their performance.
Addressing the gathering; he exhorted the civilians to join hands with the Army and work towards normalizing the situation in the region. He said the elders have an added responsibility to carry forward the message of peace, harmony and progress to the youth of the area and motivate them to take part in various cultural and nation building activities to become an integral part of the development process.
