Jammu | March 02 The 26th All India Bal Bhavan Chairpersons and Directors 3-day Conference commenced at Jammu here today in collaboration with Department of Information and Public Relations. A joint exhibition of rear and historic photographs has also been organised by the department with Bal Bhavan management at Hari Niwas and is open for public witness from today. The Conference was inaugurated by the National Bal Bhavan Board Members, Mr. P.A. Nazareth, Ms. Basanti Roy, Ms. Amita Shaw, Acting Director, National Bal Bhavan, Ms. Renu Nanda, Director, Shanti Neketan Bal Bhavan, Mr. S. Thanganayagn, Executive Officer, Chennai Bal Bhavan, by lighting a traditional lamp amidst chanting of Swasti Vachan. Ms. Amita Shaw, while speaking on the occasion, hoped that this common platform would go a long way in solving the problems of big and small Bal Bhavans alike. She also urged the delegates to come up with innovative programmes to reach maximum number of children. Thereafter the representatives of various Bal Bhavans participating in the conference and presented the progress reports of their respective Bal Bhavan. This year’s participating Bal Bhavan and Bal Kendras are Vadodara, Jaipur, Aurangabad, Mumbai, Jammu( Shanti Neketan), Allahabad, Shiksha Unnyan Samiti, Tirupati ,Balaji Bal, Bhawan, Dhule, Jaihind Bal Bhavan, Bal Bhavan Kendra Para, Cuttack, Bhubaneshwar, Gazipur, Tribal Bal Kendra, Chennai, Nellore Kancheepuram, Tiruchirapalli, Thanjavur, Mudurai, Kurukshetra Amreli, Gopeshwar, Daman, Thrivanthapuram, Rangaprabhat, Puram Sukh Adiwaasi Bal Kendra, Allahabad, Jawahar Bal Bhavan, Kollam. Ms Amita Shaw, made a presentation on the prestigious National Bal Shree Schemes and the recently revised norms pertaining to it. The delegates of the conference were also briefed about various guidelines of the scheme. Later, an interactive session on Child Development was conducted by Prof. Poonam Dhawan, Director, Women’s Studies University of Jammu.
