| MLA distributes cheques among beneficiaries | | | KATHUA | MAR 02
To redress the grievances of the people of Basohli, MLA Basohli, Mrs. Kanta Andotra conducted hectic tour of Basohli and interacted with the inhabitants. She enquired about the problems being faced by them and also mitigating these on the spot.
Various deputations also met the MLA and apprised her about their problems, including drinking water, power supply, road connectivity and employment. She assured them to consider the genuine demands for early solution.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Andotra narrated the achievements of present coalition government headed by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad. She said that the budget 2007 is in the favour of public and appreciated the announcements of Railway Minister regarding accommodation for the senior citizens, students and handicapped. She said that the state government has started various schemes for the benefit of senior citizens, handicapped, widows and the poor through Social Welfare, ICDS project and Rural Development Department.
She stressed the officers to work with zeal and dedication so as to come up to the expectations of the common masses by mitigating their sufferings.
The MLA distributed 20 cheques amounting to Rs. 9800 among the beneficiaries of Integrated Social security Scheme through Social Welfare department. She also distributed four cheques amounting to Rs. 50,000 among the beneficiaries of Indira Awas Yojana through Rural Development department.
Tehsildar Basohli S. Amarjit Singh, tehsil officers, prominent citizens and large number of people were present on the occasion.
