| Preparations for Jammu Festival – 2007 discussed | | | JAMMU | MAR 02
Preparations for celebrating Jammu Festival 2007 were discussed in a meeting of senior officers of various departments under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Mr. Pramod Jain here this evening.
Interacting with the participants, the Divisional Commissioner stressed for making attractive arrangements for the three day Jammu Festival 2007 to lure the people. It was decided that like previous year Mubarak Mandi heritage complex would be the main hub of various activities for celebrating Jammu Festival.
Proper arrangements of procession routes, cultural programme, cuisine stalls and illumination were discussed.
The Divisional Commissioner asserted that during the three day festival Dogra Art and Culture should be highlighted which includes Dogra cuisine. He said that to further entertain the people and make the festival a grand success, the cultural programme should include some Ladakhi and Kashmiri dances also.
Various programmes to be held at Abhinav Theatre and Kala Kendra were also discussed in the meeting.
