ADDC Kathua inspects works on model village

Additional District Development Commissioner, Kathua Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari inspected works on model village Barwal falling under development block Barnoti today. He inspected all the lanesand drains under execution and issued necessary directions to the engineering wing to improve and rectify defects observed during the visit within fifteen days. He also inspected Community Facility Centre, Rural Information Centre, playground and other works under execution in the said model village. He issued necessary instructions to the concerned for carrying out the works as per specifications and norms. He laid emphasis on timely completion of the works. Mr. Bhandari also interacted with the locals of the area and held meeting at Panchayat Ghar Barwal and listened to their grievances. He also stressed on constant vigilance by the monitoring committee of villagers constituted for the works of the model village. Mr. Bhandari further exhorted upon the executing agencies to proceed strictly as per the guidelines and create durable assets.. He was accompanied by AC|D-cum-DPO Samba, Executive Engineer REW Kathua, BDO Barnoti and other field staff of Rural Development Department.

58 self help groups constituted in Basholi
KATHUA, MARCH 02 9INFO0 – A function was organized by Rural Development Department Basholi at Mandla, Basholi regarding second grading of self help group mandla under Wawarn Jayanti Grameen Swarojgar Yojana, which was presided by Assistant Project Officer, DRDA Kathua Mr. Raj Singh today.
While addressing the gathering Mr. Singh told that in Basholi 58 self help groups has been established out of which 19 self help groups have achieved the first grade and seven have achieved second grade up till now. He added that second graded self help groups have received Rs. 3.46 lakhs loan alongwith subsidy. He announced the subsidy of Rs. 70000 to self help group Mandla and told that Rs. 4.30 lakh will be provided to this as loan through Punjab National Bank Basholi very soon. He awared the below poverty line people regarding the various shemes through DRDA and urged the people to get the maximum benefit of central and state sponsored schemes for poor families. He further announced that next camp will be organized at Khabal (Basantpur) where the Micro Irrigation Unit shall be established very soon through \SGSY scheme by which 160 kanals of land will be irrigated.
On this occasion Block Development Officer, Basholi Mr. Triloki Nath, Manager Punjab National Bank, Basholi, other functionaries of IPO block prominent citizens and a large number of people were present.
