Former Tourism Minister and PDP MLA, Ghulam Hassan Mir, talking to Early Times Reporter said that this coalition government will complete its full tenure. We do not some of the excerpts of the interview.
E.T. : Will this govt. complete its full term?
Mir : Beyond any doubt, the coalition Govt. in the state will complete its full tenure. Sometimes, the differences emerges and its happens in healthy democracy, so need not to worry. We have very cordial relations with Congress.
E.T. : Why didn’t PDP participate in the recently held cabinet meeting ?
Mir : I already told you that we don’t have any conflict with Congress, but we cannot take lying down any affront or insult to our party leadership. This is why our party stayed away from cabinet meeting.
E.T. : What about Armed Forces Special Power Act ?
Mir : Our party’s stands for repeal of AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act). Now the situation is improving day by day because of the steps taken by the coalition govt. We also want phase wise withdrawal of security forces.
E.T. : Sometime back, you were also angry with the party leadership ?
Mir : It was not so. There might have been difference in opinion, but nothing was serious. Everything was sorted out amicably and now the PDP is emerging as more stronger than ever.
E.T. : What is your party’s prospects in coming Assembly elections ?
Mir : Inshaallah, our party (PDP) will win more seats than the last time. We are hopeful of coming to power in the state next time also. In Kashmir, we will perform better and from Jammu, we also hope to open the account.
