| PDP’s demand for demilitarization vote bank polities : Hari Om | | | Jammu | Mar 2 State BJP vice president and spokesperson Prof. Hari Om today said that the PDP is looking for a face saver to riggle out of the controversy it itself created by putting forth dubious demands such as demilitarization and revocation of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), so that it is not shunted out of the government. He said the BJP was never in any doubt that the PDP was raising such slogans only to befool the people of the state and give a communal and emotional orientation to the Kashmir’s political scene. Prof. Hari Om said that the PDP has now realized that there is no taker for such politically motivated slogans and that this the reason the PDP leaders have now started praising the role of the army in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in fighting militancy and secessionism. Prof. Hari Om said that all this shows that the PDP is interested more in power and pelf than in the demands it raised to vitiate the political atmosphere for naked and petty vote politics. He asked why did it not take up these issues when it ruled the state and headed the Unified Command, and added that it is a clear proof that the PDP believes in the politics of deceit and double-speak. The BJP spokesperson, at the same time, accused the PDP of not taking up the public – related issues, including the and asserted that this only exposes the hollowness of its “healing touch” slogans. BJP leader asked the Chief Minister not to allow the PDP to vitiate the state’s political scene and subvert the Indian polity from within the outside and demanded that he must break his ties with the unprincipled and power- hungry PDP so that fresh elections are held and the state polity stabilized.
