| CBI Inquiry against UP CM politically motivated: SP | | | Jammu Mar 5 Reacting over the news regarding CBI inquiry against UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav in disproportionate assets case on the direction of the Apex Court, the State Unit of the Samajwadi Party in its meeting held today said though it holds the directions of the Supreme Court in high esteem, but the timings of the inquiry is not appropriate, as the elections to the State Assembly are at hand. The meeting observed that ‘the Congress party which stands marginalized in UP is now ousted from power in Punjab and Uttrakand and is feeling completely embarrassed at the hustling’ and ‘is catching a straw like a drowning man for face saving’ and resorting to defame the SP Supremeo Mulayam Singh, a party handout said.. The party ‘smells political vendetta; besides a deep rooted conspiracy hatched by the Congress behind the same’, the meting said. The meeting chaired by the party President Sheikh Abdul Rehman, was among others, attended by Ram Prakash Sharma, D K Singh, Mohammed Shafi, Ram Singh Chouhan,, Sham Lal Mahasha and Pritam Gupta.
