| Shastri demands release of DA, Interim Relief | | | JAMMU, MAR 5
President National Mazdoor Union Subash Shastri has appealed to the Prime Minister to grant Interim Relief to Central and State government employees at the earliest to remove confusion and uncertainty among the employees.
Addressing Union activists here today, Shastri said that 18 months period for submission of the report by the Pay Panel is too long and the need is to grant Interim Relief till finalization of recommendations.
Pleading the cause of the salaried class, NMC President urged Dr Manmohan Singh to release the pending instalment of DA due from January last at 6 per cent without further delay, besides providing special financial package to Jammu and Kashmir state to meet expenditure for providing the DA instalment.
He also urged for according B-I status to both Jammu and Srinagar capitals of the state and forcefully demanded regularization of all daily wagers in different departments.
The rally was also addressed by Sham Lal Sharma, Rajan Baba Khajuria, Sunil Kochhar, Narinder Bhagat, Madan Lal and Roshan Lal.
