| Holi splash in Raj Bhavan | | | JAMMU, MARCH 4 The lush green lawns of Raj Bhavan turned colorful Sunday morning with sprinkling of Holi- purple, red, yellow, blue and green. It was a day of joy for all, be he the first citizen of Jammu and Kashmir or the sentry down below. The Raj Bhavan family celebrated holy with gaiety, sobriety and decorum with Governor Lt. General (Retd) S K Sinha and the First Lady, Mrs Premini Sinha greeting everybody with Gulal. Over two hundred officials of Raj Bhavan and security personnel participated in an hour long celebration marked with Bhajjans and Holi songs. Principal Secretary to Governor, Dr Arun Kumar and Principal Secretary ARI and Trainings, Mrs Sonali Kumar were among the prominent participants. The Governor interacted with participants and hoped that the festival will be harbinger of peace, tranquility and amity between various communities of the State who have been living with harmony for time immemorial. The children had a free time to enjoy the gala holy splash in the magnificent lawns with the Governor and the Lady Governor rejoicing every moment. The officers of the Raj Bhavan were the first to greet the Governor on Holi. In a message to the people through media covering the celebrations, General Sinha said ‘Holi provides us an opportunity to break all barriers for sharing our joy, sentiments and good feelings and to spread happiness all around’. He described the festival as a part of our composite culture and hoped that the day would be celebrated in its traditional splendour.
