| Power employees to observe tool down, pen down strike today | | | Jammu, March 04 Awaiting favorable response from the state government in response to their legitimate demands the power employees association have decided to went ahead with their day long tool down and pen down strike on Monday. The power employees are demanding extension of benefit of SRO 149 in full to all matriculates and non-ITI non Matriculate employees, extension of benefit of SRO 59 of 1990, counting service for pensionary benefits and INSITU promotions, Risk Allowance for all employees of PDD/PDC, 2 and half day salary to all non-Gazetted staff of PDD/PDC up to the grade of 5700-10,000 including drivers, cleaners etc., re-organisation of PDC, promotional avenues for Ministerial staff, regularisation of the daily wagers who have completed 7 years in service, regular DPC meeting etc.The leaders of the employees union had already held meetings with the state power Minister and were assured of positive response but till date there has been no conclusive response from the state govt. Addressing a joint press conference two weeks ago president of Provincial Power Employees Union Jammu Shakti Gupta, Mohd Shafi Dar, president of Electrical Employees Union Kashmir and Jasbir Singh, president of All ITI Diploma Holders Association had warned state govt while announcing that if the genuine demands of Electric employees were not considered by the State Government before February 28 they would observe one day tool down and pen down strike on March 5. The union leaders had also decided to announce their future strategy on March 5 |
