| Rs. 32000 realized from tax defaulters | | | JAMMU, MARCG 04
Under the supervision of Additional Commissioner Commercial Taxes (Admn), Jammu Mr. Ramesh K. Koul a joint naka of special investigation unit (SIU), Vigilance and Inspections and Passenger Tax wing of Commercial Taxes, Department has realized Rs. 32000 from tax violators during a checking on National highway at Jatwal, Kathua.
During the routine checking of commercial vehicles carrying taxable goods penality amounting |Rs. 32000 was recovered on spot from the defaulters under various provisions of the J&K |VAT Act 2005. Vehicle bearing Registration No. JK02J 9691carrying plywood and wooden planks being consigned to M/\S Govind Plywood Pacca Danga was seized as the wooden planks were being imported in the garb of moulding. Another vehicle bearing Registration No. JK02AA 3361 carrying plywood and laminated sheets being consigned to M/S Mubasir Iqbal and Co. Srinagar was seized for under valuation and concealment. penalty amounting to Rs. 219062 and Rs. 104330 was imported under the various provisions of J&K VAT Act 2005 respectively on both the consignments.
During the routine checking of passenger vehicles, penalty amounting to Rs. 14800 was imposed and recovered on spot from the defaulting vehicles under passenger tax act while as documents of ten vehicles were seized for further recovery of penalty. |
