| Minor killed, another injured in grenade blast | | | Kishtwar, Mar 5
A minor boy was killed and a girl was injured when the duo was fiddling with a hand grenade found by them from nearby fields in a remote village of mountainous Kishtwar area, here this morning.
Official sources said that eleven years old Sajad Ahmed Wani son of Muhammad Iqbal Wani of Kuchal area of tehsil Chatroo and another girl, Roqiya (5years) daughter of Ghulam Muhammad found a grenade from nearby fields in the village and started playing with it.
“When the duo was fiddling with the grenade it exploded with a big bang causing on the spot death of Sajad and injury to Roqiya”, said Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Doda L Mohanty.
The condition of the injured girl was stated to be stable. Police said that it was investigating the matter so as to ascertain as how the children were in possession of the grenade.
