| DCC President lauds Azad for bold decisions | | | POONCH MARCH-05
Lauding the efforts of Azad led coalition government for ensuring balanced development of all parts of the state, District President Congress Committee Zaffar Ullah said that the border districts, which had been altogether neglected in the past, were receiving utmost attention of the government so far as their development was concerned.
Addressing largely attended public meetings at village Mankote and Jadan Wali Gali in Balakote of Mendhar Tehsil, the DCC President said that the achievements of the coalition government should be an eye opener for those who have been criticizing it just for the sake of criticism.
The Congress leader dwelt at length about the achievements of the government and said that the constitution of Finance Commission and Delimitation Commission, creation of new eight districts and enactment of amended Roshni Act are some of the notable achievements of the Azad government.
Urging the people to strengthen Congress party at the grass roots level, Zaffar Ullah said that AICC President Sonia Gandhi and PM Manmohan Singh are so keen for the welfare of the people of the twin border districts and maintained that liberal funds have been allocated for development of these two districts.
The slogans in favour of Roshni Scheme and in praise of Ghulam Nabi Azad rented the air. The slogans raised included ‘Hamara leader Kaisa Hao, Ghulam Nabi Azad Jaisa Hao’.
Block Presidents Mohammed Yousuf and Mohammed Sharief also addressed the gatherings.
