| Industrial workers observe strike | | | JAMMU MARCH 05 Industrial Units at Digiana and Jammu Cantonment remained closed today on the call given by Industrial Worker Union Jammu to protest for non- payment of earned wages to the workers of M/S Khurmi Gun Works since November last. The workers after taking out a rally held a meeting at Digiana Industrial Estates. Addressing the agitating workers, Com. Nirdosh Uppal General Secretary FUIW and Joint secretary of State CITU said that the industrial workers union, which is one of the oldest union of workers in the state has always created harmonious industrial relations to develop the industrial atmosphere in the state .He said industrial development is only possible when the workers are treated as a human being not as a commodity. Com K K Bakshi General Secretary CITU expressing deep concern over the non-seriousness of the administration and political elite of the state towards the interests of working class warned that if the grievances of the workers were not redressed at the earliest, the CITU will take stern action against the erring authorities. H D Bhowmik called upon the workers to remain united and fight out exploitation of the working class. Among others who addressed the rally included Prem Chand President ISMACO Workers Union, Paras Nath President Bharat Small Arms Workers Union Kathua and Sain Kumar.
