| Women empowerment convention held in Kargil | | | early times report
Kargil, June 29, CNS: Urging the women folk of district Kargil to come forward and reap benefits from Centrally sponsored schemes, president Mahila Pradesh Congress Committee and MLA Indu Pawar Saturday said that Congress party is leaving no stone unturned in empowering women of the State of Jammu and Kashmir. She was speaking during one-day convention on Women Empowerment in Kargil.
She impressed on the grass root women workers to remain united and also be aware of their rights. She further said that congress is the only party in the country, which takes serious initiatives for the welfare of the women.
"Women empowerment is on our agenda and our party is pursuing this agenda in letter and spirit. Congress has strengthened the root of secularism in the country and this is the only way for progress and to understand each other," Indu Pawar said.
She mentioned the welfare schemes undertaken by UPA Government at centre for empowering and upliftment of women folk in the country.
Indu Pawar further said that issues regarding women development and empowerment have already been taken up with District Development Commissioner Kargil and Ladakh Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil who have ensured to look into the problems of women of this remote district of our state. |
