| Suspension of Surankote road widening project sought | | | JAMMU MARCH-05
Senior National Conference leader and MLA Surankote Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari today met Chief Secretary and demanded immediate suspension of construction work and widening of road running through Surankote town.
He apprised the Chief Secretary that widening of the road would lead to the demolition of 400 residential and commercial structures which would foment public resentment and social unrest. He said a project for construction of a bye-pass road via Jogi Morh has already been approved.
