05 A group of 23 students, both boys and girls, from Kupwara district of Northern Kashmir, currently on a tour to Delhi, Agra, Mumbai, Goa, Pune and Jammu, today met Lt Gen Susheel Gupta Deputy Chief of Army Staff at New Delhi.
The group, for the first time, traveled by civil aircraft from Srinagar to Jammu yesterday under Army’s Operation Sadbhavana
In Delhi, these children visited Qutab Minar, Delhi Haat, and India Gate and would also visit Mughal Garden, Lal Quilla and Rashtrapati Bhawan, besides taking a ride on Metro rail tomorrow.
During the trip, the students would be visiting historical monuments of Agra, the economic capital Mumbai, beaches of Goa and also the National Defence Academy at Pune.
They are also scheduled to meet Governors of Goa and Jammu and Kashmir during their 20 day tour.
Speaking to the children, Lt. Gen Gupta advised them to do well in the studies and become useful citizens of the country.
